Torqueflite Pushbutton Art Carr “Nifty Shifter” Replacement COVER – NEW, Unused

Custom-fabricated replacement cover for the 1960’s “Nifty Shifter” 1960-64 pushbutton mechanism offered originally by Art Carr in that time frame. Custom machined a few years ago by local drag racer and aerospace machinist Dave Wicken for another local drag racer whose Art Carr shifter was missing the original cast aluminum cover. Drag car project never finished and this cover was never picked up or used. Original aluminum covers were generally crudely cast; this replacement was spec’d off an original however this one is fully machined and finely finished. Uses the early 1960’s Dodge pickup truck pushbuttons. Raised area surrounding the REVERSE button prevents accidental shift into reverse. Two protruding tangs on backside are used to secure the cover inside the steel, chromed mounting tube; tangs are not drilled for screws. Cover to be placed in your tube, marked for screw holes, drilled and tapped. All machine work done by hand on a Bridgeport mill, no CNC. Dave had approximately 20 hours into fabricating this replacement part and it is exquisite. Shipping $ 7.55 via Priority Mail; Postal Insurance available for $ 5.70.
